Dark Oud Bundle

A classic example of fine and rare oud oil from Egypt; sensual, complex, and alluring. Dark Oud richly indulgent, expansive and alluring yet mellow and quietly sophisticated, the signature of Oud oils of the finest quality.

Rich dried fruit notes are shot through with savory and fresh flashes of green cardamom, aromatic geranium and ripe pear.

With time Dark Oud intensifies to reveal hidden beauty. An oil of character and originality, of light and shadow, time, revelation and reflection. 

Warming to sensual notes of rose and frankincense are intertwined with honied saffron and piquant cumin seeds settling into textures of sweet ambergris, animalic castoreum supported by the resinous depth of myrrh and opoponax. 

Opens strong, very true to character. Metallic, rose/geranium with rich fruit notes both fresh and dried fruits. Subtle spice facets particularly green cardamom, cumin and a hint of saffron. 

Mellows into rose oil facets, slightly increased metallic/geranium sensation with more pronounced saffron highlight and warm cumin texture as it wears. 

Incense and resin notes; frankincense, myrrh and opoponax. The latter showing their true character much later than frankincense note.

Nice omnipresent chlorine/metallic note present from top note which evaporates smoothly allowing the bouquet to maintain a fair level of freshness throughout. Balance of spices, floral facets, woody/ incense notes and heavier darker 'body' notes is nice.

Base notes are altogether richer although overall a cleaner affair than some other oud oils which possess much heavier intensely notes. Dark Oud however leans more towards the drier musk side of the spectrum (polycyclic in combination with patchouli aspects, leathery castoreum, more oceanic/saline/ambergris).
